ESIP supports the inclusion of a broad scope of medical devices

In view of the forthcoming votes of the European Parliament, the statutory healthcare payers represented by the European Social Insurance Platform (ESIP) advocate for the inclusion of the clinical assessment of medical devices within the scope of the EU Proposal for a Regulation on Health Technology Assessment (HTA).

ESIP position on Health Technology Assessment

Today, ESIP publishes a position paper welcoming the European Commission proposal to provide for a sustainable framework for cooperation on HTA. Within the paper, a number of common concerns of the healthcare payers have been identified regarding the current draft in relation to the independence, quality and use of joint HTA reports.

Healthcare payers call for a strong commitment to health policy at EU level

As the Commission intends to propose an "ambitious, fair and balanced Multiannual Financial Framework", ESIP expressed its concerns regarding the future investment in health policy at EU level in two open letters on the future of the Health Programme and the Framework Programme 9.

Successful launch of the (UN)EMPL working group

On 20 February, ESIP held the first meeting of the (UN)EMPL working group. Representatives of seven organisations from within and outside of the ESIP structure came together to discuss hot topics on the European agenda in the field of employment and unemployment services and benefits.
